American sniper

Three things are very questionable in this movie:

1 Clint Eastwood is not so poor or foolish to do tricks to win over the audience
He has already shown his ability to deal with criticable and difficult themes in Million Dollar Baby, and yes he had some slip ups like Grand Torino, to clarify for the ones who were more distracted, that movie told the story of an old badass who helped his immigrants neighbors, when they were attacked by other immigrants, thus re-establishing democracy in the neighborhood, definitively defending them by themselves. That is the typical subject of United States propaganda, used to justifiy the wars that to begin, or step in, wherever in the world there are economic interests.

2 The trailer teases you
As always happens in trailers, the video editing is very good and you have to go to the cinema and see how it ends. In addition, it seems again that the hero is facing his soldier dilemma, shoot or not a child? Except that later in the movie, we see that the Iraqi children are pure evil, he try to use a 6.3 kg RPG missle launcher and force our hero almost to kill him. A mom intead, in another scene looks like Satan himself, regardless of his son just killed, she step over his dead body and try to drop the same bomb that had given him earlier.

3 The film is full of inaccuracies in procedural warfare tactics
Even a nerds like me can notice that. Our heroes have an army that can kill people at a distance by pressing a button, helicopters, drones, etc ... But somehow, these poor soldiers are always alone, surrounded, wounded or about to die. At the end of the movie it seems that 12 men won the war alone and especially thanks to the super sniper.

conclusions
American Sniper is a bad movie that confirms my suspicions about Clint Eastwood, incidentally the teenager full of testosterone that lives inside of me, will always be fascinated by Callaghan, but today I consider him dangerous like any other American who sees his country as the only possible model of democracy in the world.
Too bad, because no doubts are raised, especially about that hero* definitely good at his job, but perhaps windbagged by the media till he burned like any other Elvis.

* I would like to remind you that several American journalistic investigations have shown that some facts supported by Chris Kyle's about his life, are dubious or unconfirmed, you have just look a bit 'on the net to find out.
